Mrs. Farnsworth, 84, After Long Illness
Mrs. Florence G. Farnsworth, 84, who made her home at 59 Second Street here, died Thursday at Villa Mary Immaculate in Albany where she had been a resident. She had been long ill. She had lived in Camden over 65 years, coming from Pulaski in 1888.
She was born Oct. 18, 1879, in Washington, DC, daughter of Dr. Jesse B. and Augusta Barrow Low. She and Almon M. Farnsworth were marreid Oct. 18, 1900, in the Episcopal Church in Camden. He died Nov., 20, 1947.
Mrs. Farnsworth was a communicant of St. John's Church. She founded the League of the Sacred Heart and actively promoted this organization for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. John's Church Altar-Rosary Society, charter member and past regent of Camden Chapter, DAR, member and past president of the Camden Library Association.
Surviving are two sons, Almon G. and T. Albert Farnsworth, both of Camden, a sister, Mrs. Mary L. Tobin, New York City, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Another son, George, predeceased her.
Prayer service was held at the Sanborn funeral home Monday at 9:15 a.m. and at 10 o'clock at St. John's Church where a solemn requiem high mass was celebrated. Interment was in Forest Part Cemetery.
